YGOF Chapter 7

 

Xie Yuqing returned home with a smile on his face. Grandma Liu had just finished simmering the rice, so Xie Yuqing washed his hands and helped to bring the food to the table.

"What's got you so happy?" Grandma Liu asked casually, noticing Xie Yuqing's smiling face.

"Oh, nothing Grandma," Xie Yuqing replied, "I just saw a stray dog splashing around in the river, looking pitiful. It shook off the water and ran home."

Grandma Liu shook her head, "It's really pitiful on such a cold day. I was wondering why there was some commotion outside earlier."

"Yes, there was indeed some commotion outside."

Understanding the reason, Grandma Liu sighed inwardly, regretting that she had thought there might be progress between her grandson and Zhang Orion. It turned out to be a false alarm.

"So, when you took lunch to Zhang Orion today, how did you find him?" Grandma Liu asked, looking somewhat expectant.

Under Grandma Liu's gaze, Xie Yuqing, despite his usual dullness, began to catch on. He suddenly understood why he had been sent to deliver lunch to Zhang Orion.

In his mind, Xie Yuqing couldn't help but recall Zhang Orion's figure. Despite only glimpsing him briefly, Xie Yuqing had already firmly remembered his appearance.

Thinking about it, Xie Yuqing felt a faint blush creeping up his ears.

Grandma Liu, sharp-eyed as ever, didn't miss Xie Yuqing's subtle change. She was delighted - was there something brewing?

"In my opinion, Zhang Orion has good character, looks decent, and most importantly, he's honest and hardworking. His family doesn't have any troublemakers either. Yuqing, what do you think?" Grandma Liu asked.

Xie Yuqing didn't know how to respond, so he changed the subject, "I'm starving, Grandma, let's eat before it gets cold."

Grandma Liu felt regretful but knew she couldn't rush things. She followed Xie Yuqing's lead and changed the topic.

"Look at me," Grandma Liu slapped her forehead, scooped rice into a bowl, and handed it to Xie Yuqing, "Let's eat, let's eat, forget about that matter!"

Xie Yuqing buried himself in eating, relieved that Grandma Liu didn't bring it up anymore.

After all, he had received modern education and had a more open-minded view of love. However, that didn't mean Xie Yuqing was willing to hastily choose a partner for marriage.

Although he did have a favorable impression of Zhang Orion, they had only met a few times. Marriage and such matters should proceed slowly, with more interaction.

After being pushed into the river, Liu Shui was both shocked and furious. Who exactly had a grudge against him?

He had deliberately waited in this location, a necessary passageway for Liu Shan to return home! Who could it be?

The late autumn water chilled him to the bone. After standing up, he looked around to see who had pushed him.

Unfortunately, Liu Shui had been splashing around in the creek for too long. By the time he stood up, all he could notice was the slowly receding figure of Xie Yuqing.

"Xie Yuqing?!" Liu Shui recognized him and exclaimed in shock and anger. How could it be him?! That idiot! Given their frequent interactions, Liu Shui naturally knew what kind of person Xie Yuqing used to be. How dare he push him into the water?

But there was no one else around. Who else could it have been?

A gust of wind blew by, and Liu Shui shivered from the cold. His initial suspicion and doubt turned into towering anger. How dare that sickly fool?!

Liu Shui cursed at Xie Yuqing's retreating figure, "Bitch! I'll kill you!"

But he didn’t even manage to make the other person pause.

Furious, Liu Shui stomped his feet, only to splash himself with creek water again, chilling him to the bone.
